Hanging out with family, not thinking about much of anything (other than what life will be like without Mike Shanahan), eating inordinate amounts of food, and laughing at how big my brothers gut is getting – ah, life is good!

We all need times of relaxation and rest, and I’m thankful for this last week of vacation!

But a time of exciting work is fast approaching us, and I could not be more excited! THE TABLE BEGINS ON JANUARY 8th, 2009. 6pm in the PAC - watch your gut get bigger and get to know others who have growing guts. 7pm in the PAC – watch your faith grow (I couldn’t think of anything with ”gut” in it that didn’t sound sacreligious) as we dig into God’s Word. We’re starting a 10 week series titled, “We the Church.” Come explore the book of Acts and see how we, as the church, look like the church in Acts, and where we have some work to do. It should be fun!

Remember – with Jesus as your Savior life is always good!

Well, our “pre-table” table meetings have officially come to an end! Personally I think they were a remarkable success! More than 150 folks from Bethlehem heard about the ministry, and we got to know a significant amount of God’s people living in the motels on Colfax! God is hearing and answering our prayers!

The more I read about our economy and how the classification of “the working-poor” is rapidly increasing, the more I see God’s hand leading “the table” for exactly such a time as this. I am so thankful to be taking this journey of faith with you all, daily trusting that the Spirit is alive and well, and guiding His Church.

Bring on January 8th, 2009. 6pm – Chow Down in the PAC   7pm – Worship in the PAC
